Steve was the long, lean blonde who's
guitar was one half of Def Leppard's lead line up. Born April 23, 1960, Stephen Maynard
Clark was classically trained on the guitar at an early age, but it was his hard rock
style that helped rocket Def Leppard to success in the 1980's.
While attending a local college, Steve met up with Pete Willis and was invited to jam with
a fledgling band called Def Leppard. In 1978, Steve auditioned for Def Leppard and was
immediately recruited. Steve went on to write some of the most memorable melodies in music
today. And his legendary 'shape-throwing' on stage will never be duplicated.
On January 8, 1991, his talent was tragically silenced after a lethal dose of prescription
drugs and alcohol. But memories live on in the millions of fans who admire this great man
and guitarist.
